The road map for Lebanon’s first offshore licensing round extends over a period of ten months starting in February 2017 and ending in November 2017.
The road map includes several milestones that will pave the way to the award of Exploration and Production Agreements (EPAs)
to start exploration and production activities in the designated offshore blocks.
The Road Map includes a new pre-qualification round that extends from 2 February to 31 March 2017, and the results will be published on 13 April 2017. The existing pre-qualified companies are still eligible to participate in the Licensing Round
provided that they still hold the pre-qualification credentials.
The submission of bids by the pre-qualified companies is set on 15 September 2017.
Oil and Gas companies are invited to participate in a consultation workshop that will take place in Lebanon on 23 February 2017.
Additionally, companies will have the opportunity to raise questions addressing the prequalification and bid round processes up till 15 August 2017. The related questions and answers will subsequently be made publicly available.
The LPA will undertake the evaluation process of the bids within a period of one month to end on 16 October 2017.
Consequently the Council of Ministers will make a decision as to the award Exploration and Production contracts to the winning consortiums.
