9 - 11 May 2016

As Uganda is an emerging oil and gas producing country, it could serve as a benchmark, among other countries, on how to address the nascent oil and gas sector taking into consideration ways to work around challenges, and means to leverage on opportunities.

In this regard, and within the Oil for Development (OfD) cooperation programme with Norway, a delegation from the LPA visited Uganda from the 9th till the 11th of May 2016. The purpose of the visit was to share expertise, knowledge and information regarding the management of the petroleum sector drawing on the Ugandan experience.

The Lebanese delegation visited the Ugandan Directorate of Petroleum, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and the National Environment Management Authority, addressing issues related to the petroleum sector in Uganda namely the legislative framework, and resource and environmental management.
